About Us

Who We Are

Trinity is a congregation of repentant sinners who have believed on Jesus Christ for salvation from God's righteous judgment due to us because of sin and who are now, in view of God's mercies, joyfully endeavoring in humble reliance upon God's inexhaustible grace to live in a manner worthy of his name, fully pleasing to him.

We desire our community to be marked by five essential attributes.

We know and acknowledge that God is God and we are not. Thus, he is worthy of all honor and glory and praise. We endeavor to honor him as God through worship. This means, first, that we set aside certain times to praise him, petition him and listen to him. We do this as individuals, as families and as a congregation. But worship means more than this. Worship also means that we seek to glorify God in everything we do, whether at home, at work, or at play.

Like the first Christians described in the book of Acts, we are devoted to the apostles’ teaching. We regard God’s Word written as the final and infallible rule of our faith and practice. In other words, we look to Scripture to discover what we ought to believe and how we ought to live. We are committed, in humble reliance upon God’s grace, to following Jesus by obeying everything he has taught us.

We believe God has created us to be part of a community, both so that we can be strengthened and encouraged by others, and so that we can in turn strengthen and encourage them. For this reason, we intentionally seek to develop deep relationships with other members of the congregation where this kind of mutual encouragement towards faithfulness can regularly happen.

Paul said, “Do not grow weary in doing good…[but] as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.” Following Paul’s command we seek to care for the physical and emotional needs of all our members to the best of our ability. It is our goal that there not be a needy person among us. But we don’t stop there. It is also our goal to show mercy to members of our community who are not yet a part of our congregation as God gives us opportunity.

We believe every man’s greatest need, whether he recognizes it or not, is to be reconciled to God, his maker an Lord. Furthermore, we believe reconciliation is possible only through Jesus Christ, God’s own Son who became man, died on the cross, and rose again on the third day so that all who believe in him might have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. Therefore, we feel compelled to share this good news with everyone as we have opportunity, through the proclamation of our lips and the testimony of our lives.

Certainly, we do not yet embody these five marks perfectly – or anything close. But they are the marks we strive for daily by God’s grace.
